Sheriff open-records instructions
The Sheriff's published process states ten cents per paper page, $10 for a CD or DVD, or actual economical reproduction cost for photographs, computer files, video, and other nonwritten material. It states that a response will be made no later than five business days. Those terms belong to the Sheriff's process and should not be assumed for jailer or Kentucky DOC records. Because the jailer operates the jail, a sheriff custodian may redirect a request for a jail-created booking or release record.

Contact District Criminal for misdemeanor and violation files or preliminary felony records. Circuit Criminal is the route for felony dispositions and sentencing records. The clerk remains the starting point for copies even when an older file has moved to a records center.
Choose the route that matches the question:
- For a completed local release or release record, begin with the home page search and records steps, then contact the jailer as the likely custodian of jail-created records.
- For community supervision after custody, use Probation & Parole. Kentucky DOC Region 2 lists reentry coordinator Jonathan Keeling at 270-484-6581 and county-jail reentry coordinator Tiffanny Buckner at 270-231-5973.
- For a recent-date inquiry, review Jail Releases: 24 Hours. Hopkins County has no verified local rolling release feed, so official records or state tools may still be necessary.
- For a sentence projection or custody alert, use Projected Release and VINELink Inmate Search. Kentucky VINE can also be reached at 800-511-1670.
- For facility details and local custody distinctions, see Hopkins County Jail.
- For a Kentucky state offender, search Kentucky Offender Online Lookup or consult the Kentucky DOC Division of Probation and Parole.
- For a sentenced federal prisoner or an immigration detainee, use the official Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator rather than Hopkins JailTracker.
